First Trip Back

We survived 4 flights totaling more than 38 hours, 2 vomit inducing car rides, and having to improvise countless new verses to “Row, row, row your boat…” in various airport locations (security lines, boarding lines, bathroom lines, etc.) in order to visit family and friends in the US. Traveling with a 14 month old comes with it’s challenges, fortunately, she naps almost as much as Grandpa Z so we got some rest.

We split our time in the States between Dallas and Raleigh, with a day trip to CZ’s birthplace of Charlotte.  When planning our trip, we first focused on the people we wanted to see and then the food that we could acquire with said company. In Dallas, it was all about the Mexican food and beef BBQ. North Carolina featured a mix of home cooking, pork BBQ and an awesome dinner at Mandolin. We also managed to get CZ more than her fair share of the typical American fare with burgers, Chik-fil-a, french fries, and hush puppies.
