First Trip Back
We survived 4 flights totaling more than 38 hours, 2 vomit inducing car rides, and having to improvise countless new verses to “Row, row, row your boat…” in various airport locations (security lines, boarding lines, bathroom lines, etc.) in order to visit family and friends in the US. Traveling with a 14 month old comes with it’s challenges, fortunately, she naps almost as much as Grandpa Z so we got some rest.
We split our time in the States between Dallas and Raleigh, with a day trip to CZ’s birthplace of Charlotte. When planning our trip, we first focused on the people we wanted to see and then the food that we could acquire with said company. In Dallas, it was all about the Mexican food and beef BBQ. North Carolina featured a mix of home cooking, pork BBQ and an awesome dinner at Mandolin. We also managed to get CZ more than her fair share of the typical American fare with burgers, Chik-fil-a, french fries, and hush puppies.
Here are a couple slideshows from our different stops:
Next stop: Tasmania for Christmas!
That has got to be the most majestic phone call I’ve ever seen. I got a few other keepers from that day if I ever take them off my camera. It was great seeing you guys!
Yeah we have a few more in archives to fix up and send your way. Thanks for making the drive over. Glad we got to hang out.
