We Met

Thursday, August 9, 2012 Erin rushed to the nearest Best Buy, hoping to find batteries and a charger for the camera that just arrived in the mail. Recently inspired to pick up a new hobby, John picked out a camera, and discovered there was one Best Buy in the Charlotte area with it in stock and on sale.

Unsure of which charger she needed and unable to locate an associate, Erin looked up from her armful of possibilities, noticing a young-looking man in a blue polo headed down her aisle. Hopeful that he might have a Best Buy name tag on the other side of the polo, she decided to get his attention.

Naturally this took no effort, as it was impossible for him not to notice the single most beautiful woman he had seen in all of North Carolina the world. Until this point that included about 28 states and a handful of North American border towns, but we digress. As you’ll discover, she was not too disappointed by the missing Best Buy insignia.

We still aren’t sure who spoke first, but one thing is certain, it was John. While he proved to be just shy of worthless in selecting a charger, the conversation was neither shy nor worthless. It was effortless.

Turns out, they were both acquiring their first DSLR cameras that day, with the intention of posting photos to their respective blogs.

As the conversation continued, they realized both recently moved to the Queen City from Chapel Hill, were skeptical of photography groups on meetup.com, and had a strong interest in taking full advantage of the Whitewater Center. Little did John know, that with all this common ground and more, it was his disdain for alcohol and self-proclaimed baking skills that paved the way for what happened next.
